Maggio 2009 vede l’inizio di una serie di eventi unici: le Introspezioni di Joe Oppedisano.

Questi sperimentali fine settimana aperti vogliono radunare gruppi selezionati di entusiasti della fotografia per un’immersione di 2 giorni nell’universo dell’artista, nel suo studio in provincia di Verona.

Joe Oppedisano, uno dei migliori fotografi in Italia, è felice di accogliervi nella sua residenza/studio del ‘700, dove si terranno i corsi, e di condividere la sua conoscenza, la sua esperienza e le sue visioni nell’arte della fotografia creativa.

Corso 2: Fotografare l’ordinario

Durante questo fine settimana impareremo a creare foto straordinarie di luoghi ordinari nelle vicinanze.

Qual è la differenza tra una foto ben riuscita e una semplice istantanea?

Questo corso si propone di aiutare gli studenti a fotografare ciò che vi è di straordinario nelle cose di tutti i giorni: volti, eventi, spazi e situazioni ordinarie.

Non è necessario andare in luoghi esotici per creare immagini interessanti.

Ciò che ci circonda può rivelare una ricchezza di immagini inaspettata. Osservando ciò che è importante per noi possiamo fare delle ottime foto di quello che è intorno a noi, senza andare in luoghi lontani.

In questo corso esamineremo il lavoro di alcuni grandi fotografi che hanno catturato meravigliose immagini e ritratti nell’ambiente a loro familiare: Andre Kertesz, Elliot Erwitt, August Sanders, Joel Meyerowits, Sally Mann, Nan Golding e altri ancora.

Il lavoro sul campo verrà poi valutato; lavorerete con la luce a disposizione e imparerete come la luce giusta può rendere straordinaria una foto.

May 2009 marks the start of the exclusive workshop series: Joe Oppedisano’s Introspections.

These open weekend experiments aim to bring together selected groups of photography enthusiasts for 2 days of immersion inside the artist’s universe, in his studio near Verona.

Joe Oppedisano, one of Italy’s finest photographers, delightedly opens the doors of his XVII century residence & studio to host the weekends and share his knowledge, experience and visions in the art of creative photography.

Beyond being an intensive photography workshop, rich itinerary offers indoor and open-air sessions, shooting in Verona and in other interesting locations nearby, as well as other stimulating surprises.

Joe Oppedisano’s Introspections weekends will explore various subjects, raging from

Designed for beginning and progressing photographers, the workshops are limited to 10 participants. We prefer for the group to be small to keep the weekend a personal experience.

The package includes:

Participant’s fee is 300 EUR per weekend.

The accommodation is in double rooms; if you prefer a single room, the price of the package is 320 EUR.

Should you prefer to take care of your own accommodation or you are a Verona local, the fee is 250 EUR.

Course 2: Photographing the Everyday

When: June 19-21, Register now!

We’ll devote this weekend to learning how to create extraordinary photographs in ordinary, nearby places.

What makes a successful photograph different from a snapshot?

This course will attempt to help students photograph people, events, spaces and ordinary situations to find what is extraordinary in them.

We do not need to travel to exotic locations to make interesting images.

What is around us can be a visual feast. In examining what is important to us, we are just as likely to make a good picture at home as we are in a distant place.

This course will look at the work of some great photographers: Andre Kertesz, Elliot Erwitt, August Sanders, Joel Meyerowits, Sally Mann, Nan Golding and others, all of whom made some great images and portraits in their own familiar surroundings.

There will be assignments in the field and evaluations of the work; we will look at and practice working with available light and discover how the right light can make an extraordinary photograph.

Corso 3: Ritratti – Un approccio Personale

In questo workshop imparerete a personalizzare i vostri ritratti e ad avvicinarvi alla fotografia delle persone da nuove e interessanti prospettive.

Anche se la collaborazione tra soggetto e fotografo è importante per un buon risultato, è altrettanto importante riconoscere e prendere in considerazione i loro diversi obiettivi.

Questo  workshop affronta il ritratto da un punto di vista personale, e contemporaneamente aiuta lo studente a sviluppare uno stile unico e personale pur tenendo conto delle aspettative del soggetto. Ci occuperemo anche delle caratteristiche del ritratto quali: luce artificiale e naturale, espressione e posa, composizione, posizione della macchina, formato e luogo.

Il lavoro pratico includerà anche ritratti tradizionali e non, scattati per strada, nello studio o inseriti in un paesaggio.   

Infine verranno discussi e messi in pratica nuovi modi di concepire i ritratti attraverso disposizioni spaziali particolari, focalizzazione selettiva, uso del flash, esposizioni multiple e tecniche di collage.
